Hotel Graphic Design Company is the partner of our first 2021 visual collection. Founder and designer Nigel Hood began his career at Prairie Dog Magazine in Regina, SK, then moved to advertising in Edmonton, AB.
GHOST TOWNS
The teaser between Hotel Graphic Design Company and Nation Fransaskoise begins in 2019, when our research on ghost villages in Saskatchewan leads us to the poster produced by Nigel Hood in the spring of 2014.
Through logos, this clean and contemporary poster tells the story of 120 ghost villages.
"The creative idea for a day brings together heritage and design, which is what we are looking for with Nation fransaskoise."
Tells Khaled Kamruzzaman, coordinator of the Nation fransaskoise boutique.
COLLECTION 2021
From this beautiful vision was born the concept of making graphic representations of each of the communities. Carrying a bit of its history is a sign of strength, pride and a source of well-being.
Reaching a large number of Francophone communities also has the objective of meeting the needs of people and young people outside major centers.
"I was saddened to see that rural students did not have the opportunity to purchase a sweater from their community like they are found inRegina or Saskatoon for example. We had to offer an answer so that these Francophones and Francophiles from all walks of life could also express themselves in this way. "
Says Alexandre Chartier, director of the Société historique de la Saskatchewan.
Graphics printed on hoodies and stickers target 16 Fransaskois communities. Each represents their date of establishment, embellished with a medallion recalling one or more peculiarities unique to this community.
